Pots are just one of many choices we make as we move through our days, and I hope to create nudges of delight by having my work in the homes and lives of others. I paint and carve floral motifs, historically-inspired vessels, and memento mori on my pieces, freezing images of the ephemeral and eternal into the surface of my functional pots at the intersection of sweet, curious, cheeky, and macabre. I make the work my hands crave, handling the clay at many stages to imbue all the joy I can into each object. I love scribbling through slip, brushing off burrs, and the deep satisfaction that comes from glazing both interior and exterior of a pot with one quick motion of the wrist. My hope is that the energy I generate while working through new ideas is carried through the firing and out into the world into kitchen cabinets everywhere..
